As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-raḥmatullāhi wabarakātuh,
As announced in Jum’uah, SLMCC will be holding its trustees election in April 2023, which will be conducted by Faith Associates.
The first stage of the process is the nomination process, which is open until 9pm on 20th March 2023. To nominate a candidate, please collect a nomination form from the mosque office or the Imam, Sheikh Anas and submit the completed form to Sheikh Anas before the deadline.
Nominees must meet the following conditions to be eligible for the position of trustee:
• Over 18 years of age
• Practicing Muslim
• Minimum of Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK or a Permanent Resident Permit if an EU national, from the Sri Lankan Community living in the UK
• Preferably associated with the community for the past 5 years
• Conform to clause 12 of the SLMCC’s CIO
We encourage you to nominate individuals who have the necessary skills, experience, and dedication to serve as trustees of our mosque. The election process will be conducted fairly and transparently.
